A man has been taken to hospital after an alleged assault in Blackpool in Cork City.

A garda spokesperson confirmed gardaí attended the scene of the incident, which occurred at approximately 9.45pm on Monday.

A man, aged in his 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
