Man, 30s, in serious condition after Cork city assault

A man is in serious condition after an assault in Cork city centre on Saturday evening. 

The incident happened at around 7pm on Grand Parade. 

The man in his 30s was taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. 

A technical examination of the scene has since been completed.

"Investigations are ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
