Man, 50s, dies in crash in north Cork

A man in his 50s has died in a crash in Co Cork.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened in Castletownroche, north Cork, at approximately 12.50pm on Monday.
The male driver — the sole occupant of the car involved — was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been removed to Cork University Hospital (CUH) where an autopsy will take place in due course.
The road where the crash happened remains closed to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí say the road should be fully reopened by 6pm on Monday.
Any road users with cameras who were travelling in the area between 12.30pm and 1pm on Monday have been asked to get in touch with investigating gardaí.
