Man dies after St Patrick's Day assault in Limerick

A man has died after being assaulted in Limerick City on St Patrick's Day.
The man, aged in his 50s, was assaulted on Athlunkard Street on Tuesday, March 17 at approximately 9.40pm.
He suffered serious injuries, and died last night in University Hospital Limerick.Â
A Garda spokesperson said: "The office of the Coroner, and the State Pathologist have been notified."
An autopsy is due to be carried out at UHL this Thursday.
Three men, aged in their 20s, have been charged in relation to this investigation and have previously appeared before the courts.
Investigations are ongoing.
