Gardaí are investigating an incident in which a man allegedly exposed himself in public in Limerick.

A garda spokesperson told the Irish Examiner they are investigating the “alleged incident”, which occurred in the Condell Road area on Monday morning.

It is understood the man exposed himself to passers-by in the area.

A witness contacted gardaí after seeing the man near the riverside along Condell Road.

They noted the area is frequented by a lot of children as a school is nearby, and that solo walkers and runners are known to frequent the route.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner, the witness said gardaí responded quickly to the report.

The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
