Witness appeal after man, 30s, dies in Kerry hit-and-run

A pedestrian who was injured in a hit-and-run earlier this week in Co Kerry has died, gardaí said.
The collision involving a car and a pedestrian occurred in the Tubrid More area of Ardfert on Monday, March 2, at approximately 9.20pm.
The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was conveyed to University Hospital Kerry with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead this Thursday morning. An autopsy will take place in due course, gardaí said.
Gardaí said the driver of the vehicle had left the scene before they arrived.
They said a technical examination of the scene has been completed and they are now appealing for witnesses.
"Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them," said a spokesman.
"Anyone who travelled in the Tubrid More (Bullock Hill / Weather Well), Doon North, Lislosse, Station Road, Ardfert, area between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Monday the 2nd of March 2026 who witnessed anything or may have camera footage (including dash-cam), specifically anyone that may have witnessed a male on the road during this period are asked to make contact with investigating gardaí at Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
