Woman due in court following €200k drug seizure in Cork City at weekend

A woman has been arrested following the seizure of 10kg of suspected cannabis in Cork City and is due to appear before the courts later this morning.
Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit in the city stopped a car and searched it in Glanmire on Saturday, as part of an operation in conjunction with Gardaí from the Eastern Region.
Some 10kg of suspected cannabis, worth around €200,000, was seized.
A woman, in her 40s, was subsequently arrested. She was detained at a Garda station in the Southern Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The woman has since been charged and is due to appear before Cork District Court.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
"Investigations are ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
