Body recovered after car enters River Lee in Cork city centre

Emergency services have recovered the body of a person from a car that entered the River Lee in Cork city centre on Thursday evening.
Emergency services responded shortly before 7pm to reports that a car had gone into the water at Horgan's Quay.
The Crosshaven Coast Guard, Cork City Missing Persons Search and Recovery, Cork City Fire Brigade, gardaí and the ambulance service attended the scene.
A Cork City Missing Persons diver entered the water a short time later and recovered the body from the vehicle. No further details are available about the deceased.
"Our condolences to the deceased family and friends may they rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha," Crosshaven Coast Guard said in a post on Facebook.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of an incident near Horgan's Quay, Cork City this evening February 26. As this is an ongoing incident, no further information is available at this time."
