The company that runs Adare Manor has been granted permission to build 10 lodges ahead of the Ryder Cup in 2027.

Tizzard Holdings Unlimited, the operators of the luxury resort, have received permission to build 10 lodges on the grounds of the resort.

The application relates to a development at Graigue, Rathkeale Road, Adare, within the lands of the hotel and golf resort owned by JP McManus.

The development will comprise 10 detached, two-storey, three-bedroom self-catering lodges.

The lodges will link to the Adare Manor wastewater treatment plant network, with access provided through an existing gateway into the resort.

The news comes as Adare gears up to host the tournament in 2027 and welcome 280,000 golf fans.

Tourism and sports minister Patrick O'Donovan announced last week that a further €5.7m will be allocated for “key legacy projects” in Adare, funded by his department.

It was also announced that the JP McManus Charitable Foundation has donated €100,000 for the renovation of Adare Village Hall.

According to Government officials, the tournament will generate economic benefits “in excess of €300m" for Ireland as a whole.

The minister said Ireland currently attracts almost 250,000 golf tourists each year — a figure expected to increase with the Ryder Cup.
