Gardaí investigating following arson attack at Limerick mosque

Gardaí and three units of Limerick Fire and Rescue attended the scene at the Islamic Cultural Centre located on the Dooradoyle Road.

Investigations are ongoing following an arson attack at a mosque in Limerick.

The incident occurred at the Limerick Islamic Cultural Centre and Mosque in Dooradoyle at 1.30am on Thursday.

Gardaí and three units of Limerick Fire and Rescue attended the scene at the Islamic Cultural Centre located on the Dooradoyle Road.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Examiner they are investigating the “incident of criminal damage by fire”.

They said no injuries have been reported at this time.

The mosque and the Limerick Islamic Cultural Centre welcome muslims, who can attend Friday Prayers as well as receive Quran Lessons.
