Limerick's Troy Studios secures multimillion-euro deal

Troy Studios is Ireland’s newest and largest studio facility, located in Castletroy, Limerick.

Limerick's Troy Studios is set to attract major international TV shows to Ireland after signing a multimillion-euro deal.

One of the most significant investments in the country’s screen production sector in recent years, the agreement will see Troy Studios, Dublin-based film production company BiggerStage, and studio operator MBS Group establish a global unscripted production hub in Limerick.

It comes as Ireland recently launched Europe’s first tax credit for unscripted shows. The 20% corporation tax credit would benefit reality TV shows such as The Traitors Ireland and the likes of  Dancing with the Stars.

Troy Studios is Ireland’s largest studio facility. After being left vacant for some time following the removal of a regional movie tax incentive, the Castletroy studio is now booked and busy again. 

Last year, it hosted the production of US fantasy TV series  The Wayfinders and welcomed the production of US game show  Don’t Forget The Lyrics for Fox Entertainment.

Under the new deal, BiggerStage will produce projects on the ground, while supporting extensive training and skills development. Original programming and pilot shows will be developed at the studio for major international partners in 2026.

Troy Studios managing director Elaine Geraghty said the deal firmly positioned Limerick and Ireland at the forefront of global television production.
