The late TJ Sweeney, who died on a farm in Co Limerick
Funeral details have been announced for TJ Sweeney, who died in a workplace incident on a farm in Dromcollogher, Co Limerick.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon.
TJ Sweeney, aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Originally of Milford, Co Cork and formerly of Broadford, Co Limerick, Mr Sweeney has been described as a "devoted husband".
A Requiem Mass will take place for Mr Sweeney on Thursday at 12.30pm, followed by cremation at Shannon Crematorium at 4pm.
This is the second death to occur on a farm in Co Limerick in the space of a week.
Last Monday, Donal O'Connor, aged 91, died at his farm at Morgan’s North, Barrigone, Askeaton.
It is understood Mr O’Connor was tending to cattle when he was attacked by a cow. He was found dead later on, and emergency services were contacted.
The HSA confirmed to the Irish Examiner it was investigating both incidents, separately.
A spokesperson for the HSA said there were 24 farm-related fatalities in 2025 — all of which were investigated.
