The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is investigating the death of a young man in a workplace accident on a farm in Co Limerick.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the accident, which occurred near Dromcolliher on Saturday afternoon.

The man, aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Garda spokesperson said: "His body was removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination."

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

This is the second death to occur on a farm in Co Limerick in the space of a week.

Last Monday, Donal O'Connor, aged 91, died at his farm at Morgan’s North, Barrigone, Askeaton.

It is understood Mr O’Connor was tending to cattle when he was attacked by a cow. He was found dead later on, and emergency services were contacted.

The HSA confirmed to the Irish Examiner it was investigating both accidents, separately.

A spokesperson for the HSA said there were 24 farm related fatalities in 2025 — all of which were investigated.
