Funeral details have been announced for a woman who tragically died in a house fire in Limerick last weekend.

Marguerite (Margie) Neville, aged in her 60s, died in Chesterfield Downs, Singland, on Saturday, January 17, after a blaze took hold of her house.

GardaĂ and emergency services responded to the incident at approximately 5.30pm. Ms Neville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Originally from Castletroy View and late of Bowman Street in Limerick, Ms Neville had recently retired from Dunnes Stores in the Parkway Shopping Centre after working in the shop for many years.

She will be reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Friday from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Her funeral will arrive at St Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue, on Saturday for a requiem mass at 10am. The burial will take place afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

Since the news broke, tributes from many friends, colleagues and regular Dunnes Stores customers have been pouring in for Ms Neville. She has been fondly remembered for her smile, which could “brighten a dull Monday morning”.

One of many colleagues paid tribute: “My deepest condolences to Loren, Aaron & family. Marge was such a pleasure to work with in Dunnes, and she always looked out for me. I will cherish the memories and laughs we had together at work and on many nights, and our phone calls where we would debrief after a day’s work. She was truly one of a kind. Rest in peace, Margie.”

“So sad to hear of Margie's passing I worked as a rep and met Margie many years ago she had it all she was so humble and down to earth the smile the gift to brighten a dull Monday morning and to really connect with and engage with all kinds of people a lovely warm genuine person even though I was just a stranger we became friendly and she would ask in her lovely friendly way, how are you how’s your little fella Marg I hope you have found peace now and you are at rest. You were one in a million, and again that distinctive smile that made you feel welcome, condolences to all your family, friends and work colleagues,” wrote a friend in tribute.

Ms Neville will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, loving children Aaron and Loren, cherished granddaughters Zarah and Lolah, daughter-in-law Aimee, sisters Rita and Yvonne, brothers Edward and John, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
