Global film and TV leaders to gather in Limerick for first Irish WIFTI summit

The global screen industry will turn its focus on Limerick in February 2026 as the Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) Summit is held for the first time in Ireland.
Hosted by the registered charity Women in Film and Television (WFT) Ireland in Adare, the 2026 WIFTI Summit will celebrate women’s contributions to film and television.
From February 4 to 7 at Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa, the summit will bring together creative professionals both in front of and behind the camera, funders, broadcasters, commissioners, researchers and advocates from across the world.
The line-up includes Emmy-nominated Limerick actress Ruth Negga, Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds, The Walking Dead), Emmy-winning director Dearbhla Walsh (Bad Sisters, Fargo), among many others.
The summit will also attract senior executives and thought leaders from across the global screen industries.
Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan TD acknowledged the event’s significance for Ireland’s international reputation in film and television.
Mr O’Donovan said: “Ireland has a strong and growing international reputation for creative excellence, collaboration and innovation in film and television. Hosting the 2026 WIFTI Global Summit in Adare is a significant moment for the sector, bringing global leaders to the Mid-West and reinforcing our commitment to gender equality, diverse storytelling and the future sustainability of the screen industries.”
