Two arrested after 'significant number' of stolen phones discovered by gardaí in Kerry

Two men have been arrested after gardaí in Kerry recovered a "significant" number of stolen mobile phones.

Officers on patrol on Friary Downs in Killarney on Saturday evening stopped a car at around 11.30pm.

They searched the vehicle and discovered what they describe as "a significant number of mobile phones, believed to have been stolen."

The two men were arrested and are detained at a garda station in Co. Kerry.

The owners of the mobile phones were identified by gardaí, and efforts are being made to return them to their owners.

The two males (aged in their 30s) remain in garda custody.

A spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing.
