A woman has died following a single-car crash in Limerick on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the Abington Road, Murroe, at around 4.10pm.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to University Hospital Limerick, where an autopsy is due to take place.
"No other injuries were reported," a garda spokesperson said.
The road remains closed for gardaí to carry out a technical examination. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 3.50pm and 4.20pm, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
