Woman in her 70s critically injured after late-night crash in Kerry

A woman in her 70s is in critical condition after a single-car collision in Co Kerry on Wednesday night.
The incident happened at around 11.40pm on the N23 in Lisheenbaun, Castleisland.
The woman, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car, was taken to Kerry University Hospital and remains in critical condition.
The road is closed while gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.
Local diversions are in place via Currow village. The N21 Castleisland–Tralee and N22 Tralee–Farranfore roads remain unaffected.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who travelled on the N23 in the Lisheenbaun, Castleisland area between 11.20pm and 11.50pm are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
