All evidence heard in the first day of the trial of a Kerry lawyer for alleged people smuggling after  he tried to rescue refugees from drowning in the Mediterranean supports his innocence, his lawyer said.

Seán Binder is one of 24 defendants charged over efforts to save refugees off the Greek island of Lesvos in 2018.
