Gardaí are investigating after a car crashed into a wall and caught fire in Blackrock, Cork, in the early hours of Friday morning.

Emergency services were alerted shortly after 1.40am when the vehicle struck a wall at Crab Lane before igniting.

Two people were taken to Cork University Hospital for assessment. Gardaí said no serious injuries were reported.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and inquiries are continuing.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Shortly after 1:40am on Friday, 28th November 2025, Gardaí were alerted after a car struck a wall at Crab Lane, Blackrock, Cork, and caught fire… The scene is currently preserved for examination. Inquiries are ongoing.”
