Young man hospitalised with serious injuries after car and e-bike collide in Waterford

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a car and an e-bike in Waterford.
The incident occurred on Cork Road (R680) in Waterford City shortly before 8pm on Sunday, 16th November 2025.
The cyclist, a male aged 18 years, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries.
The motorist, an adult male, was assessed at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by garda forensics. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "Anyone with camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, is asked to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on (051) 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
