A driver in Cork has been arrested after gardaí discovered they had 30 penalty points and was disqualified from driving for a year.
Gardaí from the Cork City Roads Policing Unit stopped the driver after he was spotted on a video call while driving on Tuesday.
"When checks were carried out, it turned out the driver already had 30 penalty points and was disqualified from driving for a year," gardaí said.
The driver was arrested and charged to appear before the courts.
"Needless to say, the only call they'll be taking now is from the courtroom," gardaí said in a post on social media.
Separately, during the same operation, six other drivers were found using their mobile phones while driving.
"Remember – if you’re on your phone, you’re not on the road," gardaí said.
