Man, 40s, in critical condition following critical assault in Co Waterford

A man is in critical condition following a serious assault in Co. Waterford on Friday night. 

The incident happened at around 11.50pm at the junction of Cook Street and Mill Street in Cappoquin. 

The man, in his 40s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment for serious injuries. 

He remains in critical condition, a garda spokesperson said. 

Gardaí in Dungarvan are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information in relation to this incident or who may have video footage (including dash-cam) to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on (058) 48600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
