Gardaí arrest two as man is hospitalised after Tipperary assault

A man aged in his 40s is being treated for serious injuries at Cork University Hospital (CUH) today, Sunday, after an assault on Saturday night.
Gardaí responded to reports of a serious assault shortly after 9pm on Saturday in Knockane, Co Tipperary.
After receiving treatment at the scene, the man was taken by ambulance to CUH.
Two men aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with this investigation.
They are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in Tipperary.
A garda spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.
