Gardaí appeal for witnesses following shooting incident in Limerick 

An area in Limerick has been cordoned off following a shooting on Tuesday.

The incident, involving the discharge of a firearm, occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday, at approximately 2am in the Childers Road area.

It is understood the shooting occurred on a halting site, where a dozen garda patrol cars were parked on Tuesday after the shooting.

Gardaí in Limerick are appealing for witnesses following the “serious” incident.

Any members of the public who may have been in the area during those hours and noticed anything suspicious have been asked to come forward.

Drivers who may have been passing through the area between midnight and 2am have also been asked to check their dash cam footage.
