Man, 20s, arrested after 'alleged incident of false imprisonment' of woman in Kerry

Investigating gardaí say they are tracing the movements of a white Audi A4 saloon

The alleged false imprisonment of the woman happened on Clieveragh Rd on the outskirts of Listowel town centre at approximately 3.20am. 

Gardaí say they are investigating an "alleged incident of false imprisonment" of a woman in a vehicle in Listowel.

A man aged in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened on Clieveragh Rd on the outskirts of Listowel town centre at approximately 3.20am.

The man arrested has been detained at a garda station in the southern region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí have also issued an appeal for any witnesses to the incident, particularly any road users with camera footage, who were in the area between Listowel town centre and the R552 Clieveragh Rd between 2am and 4am.

Investigating gardaí also say they are particularly interested in the movements of a white Audi A4 saloon car during this period.
