Man seriously injured following workplace accident at Port of Cork

A man has been seriously injured following a workplace accident at the Port of Cork on Wednesday.
The Health and Safety Authority has confirmed that it has launched an investigation into the incident.
The man, aged in his 50s, underwent surgery at Cork University Hospital after the incident at the Ringaskiddy port.
It is understood that he sustained significant blood loss.
He was treated by paramedics before being transported to hospital for emergency treatment.
The HSA has confirmed that a probe is underway.
“The HSA is aware of the incident and has launched an investigation. As such, no further information is available at this time.”
