Search for man who fell overboard in Irish sea suspended until Monday morning

The man is believed to have fallen off a UK-registered yacht, south of Dunmore East in the Irish Sea. 

The ongoing search for a man who fell overboard in the Irish sea has been suspended for the night.

The man, who was on a UK-registered yacht, was last seen about 30 km off the coast of Dunmore East, Co Waterford.

The Coast Guard Coordination centre in Dublin has said that the search will resume on Monday morning.

A 999 call was received on Saturday night from the yacht requesting assistance. 

An extensive search of the area south of Dunmore East was conducted from midnight.

The Coast Guard helicopters R117, R116, a UK Coast Guard fixed wing, Dunmore Lifeboat, Kilmore Quay and Ballycotton Lifeboats were all involved in the operation.
