A man in his 60s has died following a crash in Rathkeale, Co Limerick.

The incident happened at approximately 10pm on Tuesday night at Lower Main Street in Rathkeale.

Gardaí and emergency services personnel attended the scene and a man, aged in his 60s, was subsequently taken to University Hospital Limerick, where he was pronounced deceased.

Gardaí say that an autopsy will take place in due course.

No other injuries were reported and gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.

Earlier on Tuesday, a man in his 70s was killed in a four-car collision in Co Wexford.

The incident happened on the N25 at Orristown around 5.15pm.

The latest fatalities bring to 20 the total number of deaths on Irish roads so far in 2025, 11 fewer than the number recorded at this point in 2024.
