Rain warnings issued for Cork and Waterford as temperatures set to fall

The national forecaster issues the alert on Thursday morning, with it kicking in at 1pm on the same day.
Valentine's weekend is set to be cold and wet, with Met Éireann issuing status yellow rain warnings for Cork and Waterford.
The national forecaster issued the alert for Cork on Thursday morning, and it will kick in at 1pm today. It will be in place until 8am on Friday.
It warns: "Spells of heavy rain in south Cork through this afternoon (Thursday), evening and overnight."
Possible impacts of the showers include spot flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
For Waterford, the warning will be in place from 6pm on Thursday and remain in place until midday on Friday.
The rest of the country should be mainly dry on Thursday, with light rain in areas of Munster and Connacht, Met Éíreann says.
However, in the afternoon rain will spread northeastwards, with temperatures hitting highs of just 4C to 8C.
Overnight, those temperatures will turn freezing, falling to lows of 0C as rain continues to fall across all areas.
It will be heaviest in south Munster with spot flooding in some parts, being accompanied by east-to-southeast winds.
Friday will start off wet and blustery with rain, which will gradually clear from much of Munster and Connacht with bright or sunny spells following in the afternoon.
However, Leinster and Ulster will continue cloudy all day, per the national forecast, with further outbreaks of rain.
Fresh southeast winds will gradually decrease, with highs on Valentine's Day of 7C in Leinster and 12C in Munster.
