Woman, 30s, hospitalised following hit-and-run incident in Cork City
Emergency services personnel remain at the scene and local diversions have been put in place.
A woman in her 30s has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Cork City.
The incident happened at approximately 7.05am close to the junction of Dunnes Stores and Apple Green on the North Ring Road in Ballyvolane.
The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene and gardaà are now examining CCTV footage from businesses in the area in a bid to identify the motorist.
The injured woman was subsequently conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Emergency services personnel remain at the scene, which is currently preserved pending a technical examination, and local diversions have been put in place.
Investigating gardaà have issued an appeal for witnesses.
Any road users with camera footage and who were travelling in the area between 6.40am and 7.10am this morning have been requested to make this footage available.
