Major production featuring Liam Neeson resumes filming in Limerick
Another movie co-produced by Liam Neeson, 'The Lost Children of Tuam', will begin filming in Ireland later this year.
A major Irish-American production featuring Liam Neeson has resumed filming on the streets of Limerick.
Some streets in the city have once again been turned into 1990s America to facilitate the adaptation of the dark heist comedy, . Even though Neeson’s scenes are “done and dusted”, according to a crew member, filming resumed on Wednesday.
Locations being used include O’Sullivan’s Place on Clare Street as well as Newenham Street, which was to be closed off until 11pm on Wednesday.
This comes after Neeson was spotted filming on locations in Limerick early December for a key scene of the movie where his character Danny is involved in a bank robbery.
For the second part of the production, another location has been turned into a 1990s video store, featuring a kiddie ride, gumball dispensers and a packaged ice machine.
Best known for his roles in the trilogy and , the star will play former bank robber Danny, whose teenage granddaughter Paige means the world to him. When the teen overhears Danny’s former criminal associates are forcing him to help them pull one last job, she enlists her three best friends to rob a bank.
This production reinforces the Midwest’s position as a serious location in Europe for film and TV productions, after another major movie, , filmed there last year was released in the US last week.

Produced by Wild Atlantic Pictures, the project is in collaboration with Film in Limerick and Robbers Productions DAC, who are helping with set design and the sourcing of vintage vehicles.
Another movie co-produced by Liam Neeson will begin filming in Ireland later this year. will be produced by Dublin film company Element Pictures, after Neeson bought the rights of the film in 2018.
The actor has been collaborating with historian Catherine Corless on the story which shocked the country in 2014, when a grave containing hundreds of children was found at a former Catholic-run home in Tuam, Co Galway.
Ms Corless was the campaigner whose research uncovered the scandal at the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Tuam.
Over the last few Christmases, Ms Corless told the that Liam Neeson has been sending her a bouquet of flowers, including this year.
