A pedestrian, aged in his 50s, has been hospitalised following a hit-and-run near Cork city on Saturday.

At around 6.45pm, gardaĂ­ and emergency services attended the scene of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Rathpeacon Road in Rathpeacon.
