Department approves funds to help re-open childcare facility on Cork's northside

Before 5, which was founded five decades ago, closed suddenly in August 2023, leaving more than 100 children and their families without childcare

Funding has finally been approved to help re-open a vital childcare facility on the northside of Cork City which closed suddenly over a year ago.

Northside Community Enterprises (NCE) confirmed on Monday that the Department of Children has approved most of the €366,000 required for extensive refurbishment works to allow it to re-open the childcare facility in Churchfield, formerly known as Before 5.
