Motorists have been advised of delays in Cork City following reports of a collision near the Jack Lynch Tunnel.

The collision, which has now been cleared, occurred between Junction 10 (Mahon) and Junction 11 (Dunkettle) heading northbound.

It is believed the incident occurred at the northbound entrance to the tunnel.

Meanwhile, the tunnel will be partly closed on Wednesday and Thursday nights for planned work.

The southbound closure will see the tunnel close from 9pm until 4am.

There will be further full closures from October 8 to October 10 at the same times.

Elsewhere in Cork City, major traffic delays were reported along Barrack Street, following a collision on Evergreen Street.
