Three men have been arrested following a search operation involving more than 60 gardaí in North Cork.

Gardaí in Mallow and Charleville co-ordinated a search operation under a warrant on Wednesday, leading to the seizure of three firearms and ammunition.

These will be subject to further analysis by the ballistics section of the Garda Technical Bureau, a Garda spokesperson said.

Three men, aged in their 60s, 30s and 20s, were arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

They are being held at a Garda station in the Southern Region.
