Spiritual home of Cork Jazz Festival plans to recruit 50 additional staff

The famous Metropole Hotel in Cork is set to host two walk-in recruitment open days for jazz weekend jobs

The Metropole Hotel is seeking experienced bar staff, floor staff, cloakroom staff and cleaning attendants.

The famous Metropole Hotel in Cork, the spiritual home of the Cork Jazz Festival, is set to host two walk-in recruitment open days for jazz weekend jobs.

The hotel, which is home to the Jazz Festival Club, wants to recruit up to 50 additional staff who will be available to work across the festival weekend. It’s looking for experienced bar staff, floor staff, cloakroom staff and cleaning attendants.

The first recruitment open day will be held at the hotel on McCurtain Street on Thursday, October 3, with the second event taking place on Wednesday, October 9.

Both events will run from 1pm to 7pm each day and people are asked to bring their CV and references when attending.

Kathleen Linehan, Trigon Hotels’ strategic director of HR, said the hotel is the original home of the Cork Jazz Festival.

“We are, once again this year, bringing an exciting line-up of diverse artists to the hotel right across the October Bank Holiday weekend,” she said.

“We have live musical performances on five different stages along with dining packages which includes dinner and entry to the Cork Jazz Club.

“It’s the busiest time of the year for the hotel and we are looking for experienced people to join our dedicated team for this exciting weekend and beyond into the Christmas period.” 

The hotel’s jazz weekend programme runs from Friday, October 25 to Monday, October 28.
