A woman in her 70s has died after falling while walking along the Clare Glens loop in Newport, Co Tipperary, on Wednesday evening.

The woman, who is believed to be a tourist, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Garda spokesperson said the coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
