Gardaí in Co Clare have launched an investigation after a man was discovered with serious head injuries on the outskirts of Ennis in the early hours of Monday morning.

Two scenes were sealed off after gardaí and National Ambulance Service paramedics responded to reports that a person had been found injured and unconscious at the entrance to the Aughanteeroe housing estate on the Gort Road.
