One garda member was pushed to the ground and another was punched in the face during the incident on Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork on Sunday night.

Some 16 people are due in court this morning following a series of serious public order incidents in Cork on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, gardaí on beat patrol on Oliver Plunkett Street were assaulted while attending to an injured man lying on the ground outside a premises.
