Samantha Cookes to appear in court in Kerry

Samantha Cookes is due in court this afternoon after being arrested in Kerry yesterday as part of a probe into welfare fraud.

She was arrested in Tralee and was being held this morning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A statement from gardaí this morning said: “The woman in her 30s, arrested on Friday 12th July 2024 as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged welfare fraud in Tralee, has been charged. She is due to appear before a special sitting of Tralee District Court this afternoon Saturday 13th July, 2024 at 1pm.” Gardai said that investigations are ongoing.
