Fire in Cork city industrial estate contained

At least four units of Cork City Fire Brigade went to the scene on the Old Mallow Road, near Blackpool, after the alarm was raised just minutes before 5pm.

A fire at an industrial estate on the northside of Cork city has been brought under control.

The alarm was raised just before 5pm when large plumes of smoke were seen rising from close to the Elis facility on the Old Mallow Road, just outside Blackpool.
