The alarm was raised just after 9pm, when a woman was reported to have entered the River Lee close to the Mercy University Hospital. 

Two young men, who are believed to be Spanish, have been hailed as heroes after they dived into the River Lee in Cork city centre and saved a woman from drowning on Monday night.

The alarm was raised just after 9pm, when a woman was reported to have entered the water in the north channel of the river close to the Mercy University Hospital.
