Former boxer punched student in the face in unprovoked Cobh assault

The two friends heard a man shouting at them in the early hours of October 16, 2022, and then he struck one of them, breaking his tooth and causing substantial bleeding

A former boxer punched a student in the face in an unprovoked attack in Cobh, Co Cork, leaving him with long-term dental damage, a sitting of Midleton District Court has been told.

Inspector Tony O’Sullivan said the assault happened outside the Village Inn pub on Newtown Rd, Cobh, in the early hours of October 16, 2022.
