Imitation firearm, €11k worth of heroin and cocaine seized during Garda raid in Clare
No arrests have yet been made made as part of the operation, but a Garda spokesperson added 'investigations are ongoing'.
Gardaí have seized more than €11,000 worth of drugs, an imitation firearm, cash, 2,500 cigarettes and a Dyson vacuum cleaner during a search operation at a premises in Ennis on Wednesday.
A Garda spokesperson said the raid was launched as part of an investigation into "ongoing criminal activity and recent incidents" in Clare.
The searches were conducted by personnel attached to the Crime Office, Ennis Garda Station, Clare Divisional Drugs Unit, Divisional Crime Task Force, members from the Clare Community Engagement area, the Regional Dog Unit and the Armed Support Unit (ASU) based in Limerick.
The operation saw 11 search warrants executed and resulted in the seizure of:
- €10,500 worth of suspected heroin;
- €1,000 worth of suspected cocaine;
- €2,140 in cash;
- About 300 Xanax tablets;
- An imitation firearm;
- 2,500 cigarettes;
- A number of mobile phones;
- And a Dyson vacuum cleaner in its original packaging worth about €1,000.
