Man struck by car after 'public order and reckless endangerment' incident in Limerick

A man has been hospitalised after he was struck by a vehicle following an altercation between a group of people in Limerick City. 

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to the "public order and reckless endangerment incident" which happened on Hyde Road at approximately 5.15pm on Tuesday.

Gardaí said that after an altercation between a number of people, a man was subsequently struck by a vehicle which failed to remain at the scene.

He later presented to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.

Investigating gardaí are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Hyde Road area between 5pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday and observed a Grey Nissan Qashqai.
