Three occupants of the property — two women and a man — were injured during the incident. 

A Garda investigation is underway after three people were hospitalised following an aggravated burglary in Cork early on Wednesday morning. 

The burglary took place at approximately 6am at a property on Millerd Street in Cork City.

Three occupants of the property — two women and a man — were injured during the incident. 

They were subsequently taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for treatment. Their injuries are understood to be serious but not life-threatening.

A sum of cash was reported stolen. 

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Examiner that a technical examination of the scene is due to place later this morning.

"No arrests have been made at this time," the spokesperson said. 

"Investigations are ongoing."
