Cork City FC pay tribute after death of Colin Healy's wife Kelly

Kelly Healy died on Thursday.

Tributes have been pouring in following the death of Kelly Healy, wife of Colin, the former Cork City player and manager, and assistant coach of the Irish women’s senior team.

The Ireland side play France in a Euro 2025 qualifier in Metz on Friday evening but Mr Healy did not travel with the squad earlier this week.

Ms Healy, a mother of two, originally from Glasgow, and who was living in Rylane, Cork, died peacefully on Thursday in the presence of her loving family, her death notice says.

Cork City FC led the tributes to her, saying they were deeply saddened to hear of the death of the wife of their former player and manager, Colin, and mother of current player, Arran.

“Our deepest condolences go to Colin, Arran, Hollie, and their wider family,” the club said.

“As a mark of respect, there will be a minute's silence before tonight's game against Cobh Ramblers.” 

Ms Healy is survived by her husband and children, parents Hugh and Linda Smith, brother Darren, father-in-law Pat, mother-in-law Betty, brother-in-law Patrick, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Her remains will lie in repose in Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday, with requiem Mass celebrated at 2pm on Monday in the Church of St Mary and St John, Ballincollig, followed by private cremation.

The family has asked for family flowers only, and for donations in lieu to be made to the dialysis unit at Cork University Hospital.
