Cobh man Ian Baitson remembered as 'loveable rogue' with a 'heart of gold' at funeral Mass

The funeral of the father of two who died after attack in the town on March 15 took place on Wednesday morning

Father of two Ian Baitson was fondly remembered at his requiem Mass in Cobh, Co Cork, as a "lovable rogue" who had left an indelible mark on all of those who had known him.

Mr Baitson, who died after being attacked shortly before 9pm on March 15 in a car park on the Newtown Road in Cobh, was also recalled as  a "magnet" for people due to his warm nature and good sense of humour.
