Kerry gardaí issue warning over young people acting as money mules

Money mules are usually recruited via social media, through friends, acquaintances or even while out socialising with"mule herders".

Young people are being urged to not let "anyone use their bank account for the transfer of ill-gotten gains" by gardaí as part of a new campaign highlighting the dangers of acting as a money mule.

In partnership with 13 credit unions in Kerry and West Limerick, gardaí and credit union personnel will be involved in presenting to all local secondary schools and colleges to highlight the serious legal implications that comes with acting as a money mule.
